We may use certain words or phrases throughout this document whose meanings are important to understand as it applies to your experience with Snabbo. Below is a non-exhaustive list of definitions of words and phrases found within this document:
To become a Snabbo member, an account must first be created on the Snabbo website. This step requires that you provide the following contact information: email address, preferred username, password, gender, date of birth, zip/postal code and country. It should be noted that your Preferred Username will be publicly available on the site.
Based upon the personal information you provide us, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password. We will also communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide the services you request, and to manage your account. We will communicate with you by email or telephone, in accordance with your wishes.
After the registration is complete you are ready to craft your profile. A Snabbo member may choose to include such information as:
The more information members provide about their past, the more likely someone can reconnect with them. As a bonus, and unique to Snabbo, the website automatically creates a move by move, place by place chronological personal history that the member invariably finds interesting and reflective.
The personal information contained in Snabbo's "Member Profile" will be shown only to those people whom the Snabbo member chooses. Each Snabbo member has two options when choosing the level of sharing their profile. They are:
It is important to note that whichever level of sharing a Snabbo member chooses, certain basic information about each member will be included in that Snabbo member's "Limited Profile", which is an abbreviated version of the Snabbo member's complete profile. The "Limited Profile" will be available to any user of the Snabbo website whether or not the user is a member of Snabbo. Information that may be contained in a "Limited Profile" are; first names, last names, hometowns, group memberships, Snabbo friends.
The contact information contained in the Snabbo member's profile will be shown only to those people whom the Snabbo member chooses. Each Snabbo member has two options when choosing the level of sharing their contact information. They are:
When creating a Photo Album on Snabbo, members may choose their level of privacy as to who may view it. Each Snabbo member has two options when choosing the level of sharing their albums. They are:
Members may create special interest groups and, as owner of that group, choose the privacy level for membership. The group privacy level determines who will be allowed to join it. The group owner has three options when choosing a level of privacy. They are:
Please note: Members may post greetings on their friends' "Member Profile". These greetings will be seen by friends of that particular member who may or may not be your friend. Therefore, whatever you post as a greeting is seen by others.
The "Message" feature on Snabbo provides a way for friends to have private conversation threads. Only the member will view these messages on their "Member Home" page.
Snabbo members may delete inaccuracies or update their personal information at any time by logging into the Snabbo website and by making the change on our member information page or by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Members can easily find the appropriate link from the drop down list on the upper right hand side of any page throughout the site. Below are the options to change/edit member information:
Members can invite friends to join them on Snabbo by adding their friend's email address. We utilize an import contacts feature to help you find friends and/or other members. We make it easy for you to invite people from your email address books to join you on our site. At your request, we will search your email address book(s) to help you select and import your contacts to our site. You can also enter your friends' email addresses manually. If you choose to import contacts, we will use the credentials you enter only for the purpose of importing your contacts; we will not store them or use them for any other purpose.
The "Find Friends You Email" feature allows you to search for Snabbo members by their email address. Clicking on the "Import Email Contacts" link will allow you to view your contacts on the right hand side of the page. The contacts appear pre-selected by a check mark. You may uncheck any contacts and only those that remain checked will be searched for. Once the search results appear, you may send a private message to the Snabbo member you have found. This message will appear on their "My Home Page".
The "Invite Friends" feature displays a list of your current friends so you can send a personal message to the email address they provided when they registered with Snabbo. You may also invite friends to join Snabbo by utilizing the "Import Email Contacts" or manually enter your friends' addresses. Contacts you add will appear to the right. Only those that you check will receive the invitation. You may also enter a personal message to send along with the invitation. Your message will be signed automatically using your Snabbo username. You may want to more clearly identify yourself in the invitation by including your real name as it is known by the recipients.
The "Find Friends" feature of Snabbo is unique from other social networks. The extensive personal information provided by our Snabbo members will allow more friends to reconnect through a variety of options in our searchable database. Here are the highlights of how this feature operates:
Minors (under the age of 18) are not eligible to use this service and are asked not to submit any personal information on the Snabbo website.
The security of your personal information is important to us. Snabbo is password-protected in order to secure access to the personal data which you have provided. In order to protect this data, we regularly audit our system for possible vulnerabilities and attacks using a tier-one secured-access data center. We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Our third party partners employ clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), images, and scripts that help them better manage content on our site. We do not tie the information gathered to our Customers’ or Users’ personal information.
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services contact us at email@example.com. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
